Born in Mexico City, Salvador's interest in the visual world, started by watching old b&w films from the Mexican Golden Age during the weekends with his family. At age twenty he realized and decided that still photography was going to be his career and lifetime passion.
After studying photography and film in Mexico City for a couple of years, he decided to move to Canada, where he completed his photography studies at Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning and was recipient of several photography awards for his practice.
Back in Mexico, he had the opportunity to pursue a career as a freelance photographer, working with various clients and advertising agencies such as Ford, Moet Chandon, Nestle, Palacio de Hierro, Pesico, BBDO, CMV, and many others.
In 2007 he moved to New York City and fullfilled the Certificate Program at The International Center of Photography, where he received a Director's Fellowship Award and was one of the five finalists for the Tierney Fellowship.
During his second year in New York, he became a member of the New York Foundation for the Arts Mentoring Program, being one of twenty international artists elected, and the only one focused on photography.
Since 2009 he lives Mexico City, and recently opened his own studio as a commercial and fine art photographer and became a member of a creative collective named Colectivo de Ideas.
His latest work "American Night" has recently been exhibited in New York City, and he is currently working on a new series to be shown next year.
